New Japanese film site

Surely most fans of Japanese film know about Midnight Eye. A similar, mostly informational blog has popped up, Japan Film News. I figure most cineastes would not be interested in the “dead” Japanese film industry. For the rest of us, it’s a good resource as to what is going on in the mainstream industry one hears little about in the West, for example, the Japanese cast of Clint Eastwood’s up coming film on the Battle of Iwo Jima. Takashi Miike cultists who don’t already read Japanese may enjoy the translations of his blog. Most interesting so far: Takashii owes a debt to Tobe Hooper.
